A Different Approach

I'll admit it. I was a little nervous about coming home after work last night.  After the evening we had the night before, I was in fear of round two.  Neither Gabriel nor I were at our best and the whole situation left me feeling defeated and guilty.  So I thought it best to have a plan in order to avoid a meltdown.

Florida's fever seems to finally broke a little.  Don't get me wrong, afternoons are still hot, but if you get outside during the evening and find somewhere with a nice breeze, it can be refreshing.  So Gabriel and I headed down to a park on the river for some swinging and a walk.

We also got to try out the new ring sling I ordered.  For all you mothers out there, it's definitely worth the money.  He loves it and it allows me to get a lot done around the home while having him by my side.  And you can slide him to your back and easily cook without worry if he's going to get burned or grab something he shouldn't.  I was using the Bjorn mostly, but this little guy is pushing 20 lbs and back was starting to ache after 10 minutes or so.  Plus, because of where he sat in the Bjorn, I still didn't really have access to do any cooking or prepping because he was in the way.

Anyways, we strolled around the park and enjoyed the breeze.  Granted, the park we chose wasn't in the greatest area but I really enjoyed the board walk because it jetted out halfway into the intercoastal.

On the board walk in the middle of the intercoastal.

Some stores and restaurants across from the park.

Lots of canopy for shade.

This is the boardwalk we were on in the first photo.

They had no bites.

Parks Seafood.  I celebrated my 17th birthday at this restaurant, but at their old location.

Good place to fall?

Heading home.
The plan seemed to work.  Once we got home, I bathed Gabriel, read him a book, and it was off to sleep.  I got to eat dinner before 10pm!
