Sick Baby

We rang in the New Year nursing a sick baby back to health.  It was officially Gabriel's first real illness.  He'd had a snotty nose before but never showed any other signs of feeling bad so that didn't count.  This time, for three straight nights, his fever would spike to 103.  I was very nervous.  After a trip to the doctor and some amoxicillin, he's much better.  And of course, I took some pictures to document.  He wasn't happy about it.

Taking It Easy

I'm not sure if Gabriel is sick or not.  It's really hard to tell.  His nose has been running and he coughs in his sleep (so much so that it's making him puke), but otherwise he seems fine.  But the cough breaks my heart, so I've tried to encourage rest (yeah, right).  I gave him chicken noodle soup, which he loved.  We built tents in the living room and nursery over the weekend.  I'm using a humidifier during the night.  His energy level hasn't changed a bit.  He recently started crawling (just shy of 8 months) so he's always on the go.  He loves to play patty cake and he just started pulling up on furniture.  I am hoping that this cold passes soon.  It's getting hard trying to make the little guy rest.
